never heard of a limit. most banks will happily exchange it for you and charge for it. some banks may ask for ID, but many don’t.
the charge is first of all the spread between ‘buy’ and ’sell’ - you can check on-line daily, and then they also collect a fee, which can vary.
beware of black-market exchanges - many will stick you with false bills. Peru is especially known for plenty of counterfeit U.S. currency.
going back into the US, you must declare any amount exceeding 10,000.00 US (or it’s US equivalent, if you import other currencies), but there’s still no ‘limit’.
you could also exchange Cordoba back in the US.
or , if you live in the US, you could wire the money to yourself from Nicaragua, using Western Union. Pay it in Cordoba there and collect in US $$ back in the States. Exchange is likely the worst though - based on my past experience with them. amphitryon

I was just there this past February. The official exchange is OFICIAL 20.0320 to $1. The banks or gambistas on the streets will be more than happy to change your dollars for cordobas or cordobas to dollars. Pinolera

There is no amount limit. And you don’t have to pay a fee.
Example if you give them $100, you will get 1850 cordobas Nicachick
