Peru is especially known for plenty of counterfeit U.S. currency. going back into the US, you must declare any amount exceeding 10,000.00 US (or it's US equivalent, if you import other currencies), but there's still no 'limit'. you could also exchange Cordoba back in the US. or , if you live in the US, you could wire the money to yourself from Nicaragua, using Western Union. Pay it in Cordoba there and collect in US $$ back in the States.
