I would like to chance Australian dollars into Japanese yen. I’m in Melbourne right now and I’m thinking I will get better rates if I exchange here than in Japan. In general do banks give better rates in Australia?

I am guessing the banks will have less of a tendencty to screw you over, but I suggest starting a bank account there if you can, and then doing a funds transfer as it cuts out exchange rates. fallenangel
