WHAT THE F***? asked: I am going on holiday to the US in 10 days time.
Given the fact that the exchange rate between the GBP and the US$ has dropped from 1.99 (01/08/07)1.82 (currently 16/08/07). Do I change my £1000 spending money now or wait another week?

truelori asked: I heard the best place to exchange currency is a bank. We took our Swiss Francs to HSBC where we have an account and got a terrible exchange rate! I’m trying to find somewhere else where we could take our cash and get a decent rate. Any suggestions on where to go or how to find a place (yes, I’ve already done a whole bunch of Google searches)
Thanks for any info you can provide!

Aris A asked: I’m going to the US soon. Do US banks charge for a fee when you exchange foreign currency to US dollars from them?
Where is the cheapest bank/place to get a good exchange rate?
Thanks.

truthofmatter asked:
If we all go down together, how will this affect on currency exchanges?
It seems the values of the currencies will remain the same as today.
Is my understanding correct?
Or, are there any other scenario or issues I should consider?

kelbel asked:
I am confused with the rates of exchange. I received a 10 yuan from someone and checked on line to see the exchange rate. I continued to see different exchange rates between different countries and the USD. Anyway my question is, if you can get per say 500 of a certain currency for one usd, does that usually mean that you can buy a lot more there for “less” if we were to be talking about its cost in USD?

bobby v asked:
Went to a foreign country and bought the local currency at a black market because they gave more per dollar than the banks. How do they profit if the exchange rate constantly change? What is the theory behind it?
