What is the currency exchange and long distance phone charges in Nadi, Fiji?

Currency Exchange
teach asked:

My husband has a 3 days layover in Nadi. We need to know if there is ATM access, Western Union, and the costs for long distance calls. Any travel tips for someone who has never been to Nadi would be greatly appreciated.

If you look under currency exchange you will find out how much the Fijian Dollar is against your currency. I don’t know if they have ATMs in Fiji but I do know they have access to the internet at the hotels. There are gorgeous beaches in Nadi. Fantastic restaurants and tourist attractions. I know they do have Western Union in Fiji as well. I hope your husband has a great time while in Fiji. All the best. Pat

    Bula from Fiji!!!

Not to worry…there are ATMs at Nadi International Airport and bank outlets there also (ANZ & Westpac). Failing that your husband will be able to find both banks with ATMs in Nadi town which is about 10mins drive from the airport. He will also be able to find a Western Union outlet in Nadi town although I’m not to sure if there’s one at the Airport (sorry, I live in Suva and haven’t been to Nadi for a while…funny considering it’s only a 3-4hr drive from Suva).

I’m not too sure about the currency exchange rates as you haven’t mentioned where you are from or what currency your husband will be travelling with but this website may be of assistance…

When it comes to making long distance calls, I think your husbands best bet would be to purchase a Prepaid Telecard from the airport upon arrival…there are numerous amounts he would be able to purchase.

I hope this has been some sort of help to you both….and I hope your husband enjoys his short visit to our beautiful shores. Oh, just one word of advise…if he decides to take a taxi to Nadi town, be wary of the taxi drivers as they tend to not put the meters on and literally “pull figures out of the air” when it’s time to pay your fare (this happens to locals as well but usually the tourists will get the brunt of it). My suggestion is if the driver decides to give the old “my meter is not working” trick…walk away and find another taxi. Make sure the driver puts the meter on always:)

Good luck and again I hope your hubby enjoys his stay.

    PEACE:) codepinker
