Where can I exchange US Dollar currency to Japanese Yen?

I will be traveling to Japan soon and I was wondering where I can exchange currency for the lowest fee? It could be in either NYC or Tokyo.

    The best way is to exchange it at one of the banks in Japan. If you change it in NYC then you will be losing money and won’t be getting the full exchange rate. The same goes for airports, if you change it in the airport, either in NYC or Japan, you will be charged a service charge and be losing money. In my experience, the absolute best way is to withdraw money from the ATM machine in Japan. You could search your banks website and see if they have a branch in Tokyo, if they do, then when you withdraw money, you won’t be charged a service charge. Angel I

    You can exchange it at banks or airports in Japan.

    The commission will not be so different no matter which one of them you bring your money. thecheapest902

    If you want to have some Yen before leaving then some banks, and Thomas Cook travel agencies should have some.
    Otherwise just do it in Japan.
    The airport is the most convenient and the last time the fees were the same as the banks. lestermount

    Please exchange at the airport. You can also exchange US Dollar to Yen at the large bank.
    However if you bring US Dollar, I will exchange it at high rate. I am an honest exchanger. Taro
