Where will I acheive the best foreign currency exchange rates?

I am currently looking to buy a house in spain costing me a little over 200,000 pounds sterling and the currency exchange rate the banks are offering seem to be very poor .Can any one please advise of a better route to me obtaining the best rates out there?

    Basically a high street bank will be very unlikely to be able to offer you a good exchange rate as they themselves contract this service out to Currency Exchange Specialists who do this for them. You should really cut out the middleman and go straight to them, as for this kind of sum they will both offer you an attractive rate and NOT charge a fee or commission like a bank will.
    Be sure to check at your bank in Spain the cost of receiving your funds in Euros - your bank manager may negotiate on this so be sure to agree something in writing BEFORE you do the deal.
